Dagoretti Corner Children’s Care Programme Project

WISA provided beds and bedding for 20 children of Dagoretti Children's Centre. Dagoretti Children's Centre is a home for orphans and destitute children situated at Ngando, Dagoretti Corner. Currently, it houses about 500 children, ages 5 to 20 years, about 75% of whom are girls.

The Centre provides education for the children (Primary, Standard 1 to 8; Secondary, Forms 1 to IV). All the children are housed at the

Centre. I visited the Centre in August 2014, met the children and the Management of the centre. Due to congestion, they have recently

constructed a simple, tin-walled, tin-roofed dormitory where they put the 10 double-decker beds donated by WISA to cater for 20 Some of the Children at Dagoretti Children’s Centre with the co-founder of the centre Pastor Enos Oumo 2 children. WISA was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Dagoretti Corner Children’s Care Programme

The items are as follows:

  • 10 double-decker beds; 40 bed sheets; 40 blankets; and 20 Mattresses.
