TESTIMONIALS

“It was a privilege for me to be one of founder members and I also had the honour of being elected Chair from 2012 to 2019.

WISA finds its roots from a fundraiser activity in which Kenyans in Switzerland got together in 2011 to raise funds to sink a borehole for a community in Northern part of Kenya ravaged by drought.

WISA has grown over the years into a forum that brings Kenyans together to socialize, celebrate and respond to the needs of Kenyans in Switzerland and in Kenya alike.

I wish the new and the future leadership success as they take WISA to greater heights."

Samuel Muchemi

FORMER CHAIRMAN

“WISA was founded to be a home away from home; a vibrant and an all-inclusive diaspora community that embodies the spirit of Amani, Upendo na Umoja.

As a people, we continue to find unity in the diversity of our cultures, and in the spirit of harambee, welcome friends of Kenya to share in our collective quest for peace, prosperity and self-determination."

Wangui Ngoima

CO-FOUNDER & FORMER OFFICIAL

“I came on board by chance, invited to beef up the WISA committee for an upcoming fundraiser, which turned out to be a great success. I stayed on for 6+ years under the able leadership of one Samuel Muchemi, who steered the ship with amazing passion and commitment.

I enjoyed the journey, despite the numerous obstacles. My take: it takes two to tango. The committee and members must know why they are in this union otherwise the process is derailed and the joy of giving and receiving is diluted.

Am happy to have served and salute my fellow committee members and the Kenyan community at large for the achievements we have made this far. Passion, Commitment and Service are key attributes for success."

TESTIMONIALS

“WISA was born out of a desire by Kenyans in Switzerland to assist their fellow Kenyans who faced difficult situations back in Kenya, as well as minding the welfare of Kenyans based in Switzerland."

Dr. William Nyakwada

FORMER OFFICIAL

“Leaving Switzerland being a WISA founder member remains one of my proudest achievements.

I'm delighted to have witnessed the wonderful Kenyan spirit of togetherness whne building our community in Switzerland. We achieved a lot including raising over CHF 12K to drill a borehole for a drought-stricken community in Northern Kenya.

I fondly remember the soccer games we had and how they quickly became the envy of other Africans, leading to tournaments between East African countries. This is the true embodiment of the Ubuntu spirit and I'm so proud to see that WISA has only grown bigger and stronger over the years."

My best wishes from Australia and long live WISA!
